Dr. Christina Jerome serves as a Title I Instructional Technology Specialist for Prince George’s County Public Schools Maryland. She is responsible for developing, implementing and facilitating systemic professional development workshops in technology literacy. Translation: she is the go-to STEM resource that trains teachers in classroom technology integration using iPads, iPods, Chromebooks Laptops and Interactive whiteboards. If it has power and a screen then Christina can show students as young as 4 years old how to use it to enhance their learning. Christina has over 15 years of experience as a math and science educator as well as curriculum writing and technology integration within PGCPS. She has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College and earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. As an instructional coach she mentored and supported math and science teachers by planning and facilitating collaborative department meetings, providing observation based feedback on lesson design, delivery and assessment. As an Instructional Technology Specialist Christina was the project manager of a technology initiative that integrated over 8,000 students in 28 schools with iPads and MacBooks. In addition she managed a 1:1 3rd Grade Mobile that provided laptops, Chromebooks and/or iPads to 4,000 3rd grade students in 60 Title I schools. Overall Christina’s passion is to provide supplemental resources to school principals and staff that promotes academic success, STEM integration and closes the access gap for students and families living in circumstances of poverty.
